A space of flowers
Updated: Aug 27, 2020
Like most artists, my surroundings really affect my energy, mood and inspiration level. When my space is messy, it makes it hard for me to concentrate and focus on what I need to do. I also find that I am attracted by patterns, flowers and paintings and that I work best when I know where everything is...
Recently, I moved my office from one room of the house to the other, and while this new space is smaller, it also allowed me to only bring in the items I wanted and needed with me. Here are a few pictures of my new space.
My tips for an organized office space:
Use clear containers for art supplies, especially if you have kids. This has saved so much time in finding things and putting them back.
Find a home for everything, so each item always has a place to go back to.
Have boxes for things that you want to keep but don't need to see.
Surround yourself with things that make you happy.
Clean and organize on a regular basis.
And as always, we come across the items that we thought for sure we were going to be working on along the way. These are ideas we had years ago and jotted down for the perfect time. These are the books we started and wanted to finish, or the projects we held onto for years... Now is the time to see if you can release them back into the stream of life, or if they are going back into their files for safekeeping.
If you are ready to let go, then say thank you to them for helping bring you to where you are now and release them.
And here is a little video...
